My name is Elle Hale and I joined the SYCBA initially to network with other professionals in a casual environment. When I first joined the group, I did so as a baker and wanted to promote my baked goods. I took a little hiatus from the SYCBA and switched to a new career path, which brought me back to the group a couple of years later. I was happy to see familiar faces when I returned but getting to know the new members has been most beneficial.
What I like most about the group is the vastness of professions and personalities. I enjoy being around people that I can learn from and who can learn from me, as well. I would like to think I’ve made quite a few friendships that will last longer than my hair styles. While having been a member for quite a few years, I do not remember the exact number because of my joining back in 2008 or 2009, then leaving and returning around 2017. I want to say at least five or more years. Maybe.
My position on the Board is the Fundraising Director. I get the privilege to develop, plan, and execute fundraisers for the group’s non-profit organizations. My secret delight in life is to plan events, and this position allows me to do just that. I am looking forward to expanding our efforts of fundraising, ensuring our members know that we have opportunities for their non-profits to experience the generosity and care of the SYCBA members.
I am originally from Philly (home of the best pretzels and cheese steaks) and moved out to York County via Baltimore about 18 years ago. I went to college in Baltimore more years ago than I care to mention, worked in a law firm at the Inner Harbor for about eight years before transitioning to working here in PA. I was a stay at home mom to my now 13-year-old daughter, when I began my baking career. I hopped over into real estate in 2013 for a change of pace and to be around adults. I love homes and everything about them and wanted to do whatever I could in relation to that. Except for building them because manual labor is not my thing. All of that aside, the most important thing to know about me is I am a creative person. Reading and writing is my passion; painting and drawing are also my jams, along with dancing and singing my heart out when the feeling hits me. Yes, you just might catch an impromptu dance off if there is music playing.
